Kuakata Submarine cable maintenance to slow internet for three nights

Each night during this period, customers will experience eight hours of slower connectivity.

Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC has warned of slower internet speeds for three nights starting Thursday as it carries out maintenance on the country’s second submarine cable in Kuakata.

From 10 pm on April 9 to 6 am on April 13, circuits to Singapore will be temporarily affected, causing reduced speed or partial disruption, the state-owned company said in a notice on Wednesday. Each night during this period, customers will experience eight hours of slower connectivity.

The company said it will coordinate with the relevant consortium to complete the work quickly and restore normal service within the scheduled timeframe.

The first submarine cable (SEA-ME-WE-4) in Cox’s Bazar will remain fully operational, ensuring continued service through that link.
