After more than three and a half years, the Pakistan cricket team is set to play a T20I series in Bangladesh. The first match of the series will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur today. The game will start at 6 pm. The second and third matches of the series will be played at the same stadium on November 22 and 24, respectively.

Bangladesh and Pakistan have faced each other in 22 T20I matches, with Pakistan winning 19 and Bangladesh winning three. The two teams have faced each other in six series, with Pakistan winning five and Bangladesh winning just one.

Bangladesh has played seven T20Is against Pakistan at home, losing five and winning two. Bangladesh has also lost all six T20Is played against Pakistan. In 2008, Bangladesh lost by a huge margin of 108 runs in Karachi. On the 2020 tour, the Mahmudullah-led team lost two matches in Lahore by 5 wickets and 9 wickets respectively. Bangladesh was last whitewashed in three T20Is played against Pakistan in May. In total, Pakistan has won 19 of the 22 encounters, while Bangladesh has won the remaining three.

Earlier, Pakistan whitewashed the hosts in a three-match series on a tour of Bangladesh in 2021. All three matches were played at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. The team led by Babar Azam won the first match by 4 wickets, the second match by 8 wickets, and the last match by 5 wickets. However, there are many changes in the team this time. The following year, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the Asia Cup T20I at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium. This is the seventh time that Bangladesh and Pakistan will face each other in a T20I series. Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in a one-match home series in 2008. The result was the same in the 2012 Bangladesh tour. Pakistan also won a one-match series in the 2015 Bangladesh tour. The 2020 Pakistan tour increased the number of matches but reduced the series to two matches due to rain. The hosts defeated Bangladesh in both matches in Lahore. Then, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh 3-0 in the series in 2021 and 2025, both at home in Bangladesh.

Shakib Al Hasan, the highest run-scorer in the T20I series between Bangladesh and Pakistan, will not be seen in this series. He was not in the last Pakistan tour either. He is now out of the national team setup due to 'political' reasons. He is there even if he is not there. Because his highest score of 360 runs between the two teams is shining. Mohammad Hafeez, who is second with 277 runs, has retired, and Rizwan, who is third with 274 runs, is not in this series.
