Bangladesh have won the inaugural SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship, beating the Maldives 14–2 in a record–setting final in Bangkok on Sunday.

The victory capped a dominant tournament performance for the side, which finished the competition unbeaten. Captain Sabina Khatun led the final rout, scoring four goals to bring her personal tally to 13.

Bangladesh overwhelmed their opponents from the outset and established a 6–1 lead by halftime, adding a further eight goals in the second half against a dismantled Maldivian defence. The 14–2 scoreline set a new tournament record for the highest score in a single match.

The team was unstoppable throughout the seven–nation competition. They finished top of the table with 16 points from six matches, securing five wins and one draw.

Bangladesh scored 38 goals and conceded only nine across the tournament. Their campaign included victories over India, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka, and a draw with Bhutan.
