The Bay of Bengal, adjacent to Kuakata in Patuakhali District, turned moderately rough due to adverse weather conditions. Waves of varying intensity are crashing onto the shore, while wind speed has begun to increase. The entire coastal sky remains overcast.

Considering the situation, all fishing boats and trawlers currently in the northern Bay of Bengal have been instructed not to venture into the deep sea until further notice. Instead, they are advised to stay close to the coast and move with extreme caution. If necessary, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department instructed them to take shelter in safe locations.

Since 12:00 pm on Tuesday, light drizzle has been reported in different coastal areas, accompanied by rising wind pressure. The water level in rivers has risen slightly. The weather office has warned that gusty winds with speeds ranging from 45 to 60 km/h may sweep over Khulna, Barishal, and Patuakhali regions. The meteorological office asked these river ports to display Local Cautionary Signal No. 1, and all seaports, including Payra Port, to Local Cautionary Signal No. 3.

District Meteorological Officer Mahbuba Sukhi said that adverse weather conditions may persist for the next 72 hours, with the likelihood of gusty winds, rain, and squally weather continuing. She also warned that the sea may remain rough until the first week of May. Coastal residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel to the sea, while fishermen and those involved in marine transport have been urged to remain in safe shelters and follow the latest advisories issued by the meteorological authorities.
