Heatwave may persist in several districts

The mild heatwave is likely to persist over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Naogaon, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Jashore, and Chuadanga.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has reported that the mild heatwave affecting several districts of the country may continue. The forecast was issued this morning, Thursday (April 3).

It mentions that the mild heatwave is likely to persist over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Naogaon, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Jashore, and Chuadanga. The daytime temperatures across the country are expected to remain mostly unchanged, with a slight increase in nighttime temperatures.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours, starting from 9 am today, indicates that the weather will remain mainly dry, with partially cloudy skies across the country.

According to the synoptic situation, the extended portion of a low-pressure area is spread across West Bengal and nearby regions. The seasonal normal low-pressure area is positioned in the southern Bay of Bengal.

Yesterday (April 2), the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 38°C in Rajshahi, while the lowest temperature today was 17.2°C in Tetulia, Rangpur. The highest temperature in Dhaka yesterday was 34.5°C.
