Endangered slow loris released into wild after rescue

The rescue group said the animal was unharmed when recovered and was released after a short period of observation.

An endangered Bengal Slow Loris, locally known as “Lojjaboti Banor”, was rescued from a human settlement in Netrokona’s Durgapur sub-district and released back into the wild.

Members of Save the Animals of Susang retrieved the animal unharmed last night after residents spotted it in the settlement and alerted the organisation. The animal was kept under brief observation before being freed in a secure forest area.

Local people said residents should remain calm when wild animals enter settlements and should not try to catch or harm them.

Local wildlife enthusiasts urged everyone to act collectively to protect wildlife.
