In just 29 days since its release, the film Utshob has earned over BDT 50 million in ticket sales across multiplexes in Bangladesh while also outperforming expectations in Australia and the United States. Currently, the film is running with the highest number of daily shows at Cineplexes around the country.

Director Tanim Noor, best known for his web series Kaiser, expressed his excitement at the overwhelming audience response. “The love we’re receiving is unprecedented,” he said. “Utshob has created a celebration of its own. Every show is sold out. Everyone who watches the film talks about it and shares it with others. It’s truly amazing.”

Inspired by Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, which was written 182 years ago, Utshob adds a Bangla interpretation to the long list of adaptations. The film, tagged “Not to be watched without family,” was released during Eid and quickly became the top choice among family audiences.

Viewers have found the tagline fitting, as the content deeply aligns with the message. The film has stirred nostalgic emotions, drawing viewers back to memories of their golden pasts.

The screenplay was written by Tanim Noor, Ayman Asib Shadhin, Sushmoy Sarkar, and Samiul Bhuiyan.

Utshob features a star-studded cast, including Zahid Hasan, Jaya Ahsan, Aupee Karim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Afsana Mimi, Tariq Anam Khan, Azad Abul Kalam, Intekhab Dinar, Sunerah Binte Kamal, and Shoumya Jyoti.
