Irfan Sajjad’s unique film Ali is bringing a new surprise to movie lovers. The film is releasing in theaters across the country on Friday (July 18), where Irfan Sajjad will be seen in the role of a speech-impaired young man. The film has already gained attention due to its realistic characters and story.
Irfan Sajjad said about the film, “Ali is an emotional project for me. We shot in late 2023 and early 2024. This is my first film with director Biplob Hayder. The work is very important to me because we wanted to present an exceptional story to the audience. I hope that those who watch the film will be able to connect deeply with the story.”
The story of Ali revolves around a speech-impaired young man who struggles to survive outside the norms of society. Describing his experience playing the role, Irfan said, “The character was not easy for me. When the director told me the story, I wanted to play the character, but I was also afraid. Maintaining the character of Ali throughout the film was very difficult, both physically and mentally. I often fell ill after the shooting, because keeping my face twisted all the time, expressing my emotions only through gestures without speaking, was very challenging.”
He further said, “When I was shooting on the first day, the director said, ‘I have found my Ali.’ That gave me confidence. After that, we shot for three to four months straight. In every scene, we tried to break ourselves and make the character come alive. In the film, everyone has given their all to their respective roles, maintaining a balance in the atmosphere of the story from their respective places.”
Addressing the audience, Irfan Sajjad said, “Ali is a timely story. It is not a colorful dream fantasy, but a reflection of the real life around us. I believe that when the audience accepts such stories, directors and producers will be more enthusiastic about doing such bold work. Watching Ali is not just watching a movie, watching it means experiencing the story of a life.”
The film has already been promoted on social media, with movie buffs expressing considerable interest in its exceptional story and characters.
The film is directed by Biplob Hayder. After leaving the small screen, he made his big screen debut last year with the film Vhoyal. The film stars Irfan Sajjat, Misha Sawdagor, Kazi Hayat, Shatabdi Wadud, Showkot Shajal, Parvez Suman, Christian Tanmoy, Tashik Nabira, Md Iqbal, Mir Shahid, and Megh Badsha.
