Prime Minister Tarique Rahman assured foreign investors of full government support on Tuesday, saying Bangladesh is ready to facilitate new investment and offer a favourable business environment.
“Bangladesh currently offers a favourable environment for investment,” the prime minister told a business delegation at the Secretariat in Dhaka. “The government is ready to provide all necessary support to interested foreign investors.”
The prime minister was speaking during a meeting with an eight-member delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham), according to Assistant Press Secretary Gazi Shahriar Pami.
Led by AmCham President Syed Mohammad Kamal, a vice-president at Mastercard, the representatives said their new executive committee had taken charge two months ago with a focus on driving US investment into Bangladesh and deepening trade ties.
Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Telecommunications and Technology Adviser Rehan Asif Asad, and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun were also present.
