Gold price falls by BDT 3,266 per bhori

As in previous adjustments, the association said in the statement that the price of pure gold in the local market has declined. Considering the overall market situation, new gold prices have therefore been fixed.

Gold prices have fallen again in the domestic market after rising ahead of Eid-ul-Adha. Under the latest adjustment, the price of 22-carat gold has been reduced by BDT 3,266 per bhori to BDT 234,855.

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the price reduction in a press release this morning. The revised prices came into effect from 10:00 am on Tuesday.

As in previous adjustments, the association said in the statement that the price of pure gold in the local market has declined. Considering the overall market situation, new gold prices have therefore been fixed.

BAJUS last adjusted gold prices on the morning of May 25. At that time, the price of 22-carat gold was increased by BDT 2,158 per bhori to BDT 238,121.

Under the new rates, a bhori of 22-carat gold is now priced at BDT 234,855. The price of 21-carat gold has been set at BDT 224,182 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will cost BDT 192,164 per bhori. Gold produced under the traditional method has been priced at BDT 156,473 per bhori.

So far this year, gold prices have been adjusted 70 times in the domestic market. Prices were increased on 37 occasions and reduced on 33 occasions. By comparison, gold prices were adjusted 93 times last year, with 64 increases and 29 decreases.

Alongside gold, silver prices have also been reduced in the domestic market. The price of 22-carat silver has been lowered by BDT 117 per bhori to BDT 5,657. The price of 21-carat silver has been set at BDT 5,365 per bhori, while 18-carat silver will cost BDT 4,607 per bhori. Silver produced under the traditional method has been priced at BDT 3,441 per bhori.

So far this year, silver prices have been adjusted 41 times in the domestic market, with 22 increases and 19 decreases. Last year, silver prices were adjusted a total of 13 times, of which 10 were increases.
