The Bangladesh Jewellers Association cut the price of 22-carat gold by BDT 3,266 per bhori (11.664 grammes) to BDT 225,290 including VAT on Monday, reversing a BDT 5,482 increase imposed only two days earlier.
BAJUS said local pure gold prices had declined, prompting the adjustment, which took effect at 10 am. On June 27 the association had raised the rate to BDT 228,556.
Under the new rates, 21-carat gold was set at BDT 215,142 per bhori, 18-carat at BDT 184,758 and traditional gold at BDT 150,932.
The revision marks the 83rd gold price adjustment so far in 2026, with 41 increases, 41 cuts and one VAT amendment.
