Army Chief on official visit to Malaysia

During the visit, the Army Chief also plans to hold bilateral meetings with relevant Malaysian counterparts.

Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman has travelled to Malaysia on a four-day official visit. He left Dhaka for Malaysia on Sunday, according to a press release issued on Monday by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The release states that, as a representative of the prime minister, he visited the Defence Services Asia (DSA) and National Security Asia 2026 exhibition in Kuala Lumpur today.

This major defence exhibition in Asia is showcasing modern defence systems, electronic warfare technologies, and a wide range of security equipment.

He will participate in the 8th Putrajaya Forum on April 21. The forum aims to discuss security in the ASEAN region, the impact of emerging technologies on regional stability, and coordinated cooperative policies and strategies.

During the visit, the Army Chief also plans to hold bilateral meetings with relevant Malaysian counterparts. The visit is expected to further strengthen regional relations and security cooperation, according to the statement.
