Md Rashed Khan has been appointed as the political assistant to the prime minister on a contractual basis with the status of secretary, according to a notification issued by the public administration ministry on Sunday.

Rashed Khan has been given this appointment on condition of severing ties with any other profession, business or any government, semi-government and private institution or entity.

According to the notification, Khan will serve as the prime minister’s political assistant from the date of joining until the tenure of the prime minister or with the consent of the prime minister, whichever comes first.

It further stated that other terms and conditions of appointment will be determined through the relevant contract.
