Police have arrested four people over the attack, looting and vandalism at the Radda MCH-FP Centre in Mirpur 1, Dhaka. Akhtar Hossain, deputy commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s media and public relations division, confirmed the arrests on Saturday.

Earlier, masked people entered the health centre in Mirpur section 1 late on Thursday night. Nasrin Akhter, the clinic’s executive director, filed a case at Shah Ali police station the following day naming Hanif Mia as an accused and about 250 unidentified people.

The clinic alleges that at least 200 masked people held its security staff hostage, looted medical equipment, medicines, government vaccines, cash and other items, and used heavy machinery to demolish one concrete building and three semi-concrete structures.

A signboard for “Samomona Dokandar Samobay Samity Limited” was put up at the site after the attack, according to the clinic which also alleges that police were present during the assault but did not intervene immediately.
