Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will offer the prayers of holy Eid-ul-Fitr at the Jatiya Eidgah ground at 8:30 am on Eid day. President Mohammed Shahabuddin will also take part.
The Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Abdul Kalam Azad Majumder said Professor Muhammad Yunus will also exchange Eid greetings with dignitaries and people from different walks of life at the Chief Adviser's Office in Tejgaon at 4 pm.
Yesterday morning (March 29), during a press briefing on the preparations and schedule for the main Eid congregation at the National Eidgah, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Md Shahjahan Mia stated that the President and Chief Adviser might attend the Eid prayers at the National Eidgah. He also mentioned that the Eidgah can accommodate 35,000 people for the congregation.
Earlier, Dhaka South City Corporation announced that this year’s Eid congregation at the National Eidgah will be held at 8:30 am. The weather forecast indicates no major disruptions. However, if the weather turns unfavorable, the main congregation will be held at Baitul Mukarram at 9:00 am.
Following a mass uprising by students and the public, the country witnessed a political shift on August 5. Three days later, on August 8, Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus assumed office as the chief adviser of the interim government. This marks the first Eid for him and his advisory council as the head of government.
