Fire service rescue team heads to Myanmar

The 10-member rescue team from the Fire Service is traveling as part of a joint aid mission organized by the Armed Forces Division (AFD).

A rescue team from the Bangladesh Fire Service & Civil Defence has been sent to Myanmar to assist with post-earthquake search and rescue efforts. The Fire Service shared this information in a press release today (April 1).

The 10-member rescue team from the Fire Service is traveling as part of a joint aid mission organized by the Armed Forces Division (AFD). They departed for Myanmar at 11:30 am on a special flight from Dhaka.

According to the statement, the team is led by Md Saleh Uddin, Deputy Director of the Dhaka Division of the Fire Service & Civil Defence. It includes three officers and seven firefighters.

Previously, in 2023, the Fire Service & Civil Defence also sent a rescue team to assist in post-earthquake rescue efforts in Turkey.
