Dilara Hafiz, wife of Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed (Bir Bikrom), has passed away (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un). She breathed her last at 1:29 pm Singapore local time today at Singapore General Hospital. She was 78.

The body of Dilara Hafiz will be brought back to Bangladesh tomorrow evening. Her first Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at 11 am the following day at the South Plaza of the National Parliament. Following a second Janaza at the Cantonment Central Mosque after Zuhr prayers, she will be buried at the Banani Military Graveyard.

She is survived by her husband, a son, a daughter, grandchildren, and numerous well-wishers.
