The pledge came at a meeting of the OIC Ministerial Ad-Hoc Committee on Accountability for Human Rights Violation Against the Rohingya in Baghdad.

Member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation have reaffirmed their support for the case before the International Court of Justice concerning the Rohingya, expressing hope that it will pave the way for a lasting solution to the protracted crisis.

The pledge was made at a meeting of the OIC Ministerial Ad-Hoc Committee on Accountability for Human Rights Violation Against the Rohingya, held on the sidelines of the 52nd session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Baghdad, Iraq.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir addressed the meeting as leader of Bangladesh’s delegation and co-chair of the ad-hoc ministerial meeting.

He urged member states to act collectively and proactively to resolve the crisis, describing it as a major challenge for the Ummah and calling for a collective response to support humanitarian and legal activities.

Kobir underlined the five-point action plan articulated by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly and called for urgent and decisive action, particularly to ensure justice and accountability through a legal framework.
