BNP-nominated candidate Md Asaduzzaman has been declared the unofficial winner in Jhenaidah-1 (Shailkupa) constituency.

He secured 171,598 votes with the “paddy sheaf” symbol. His nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Abu Saleh Md Matiur Rahman, received 55,577 votes with the Daripalla (scale) symbol.

Assistant Returning Officer and Shailkupa Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahfuzur Rahman announced the unofficial results shortly before 8:00 pm on Thursday (February 12).

The constituency has a total of 325,278 registered voters.
