US provides emergency medical equipment to Bangladesh Coast Guard

The deliveries included 120 trauma-response bags and 21 CPR training mannequins to strengthen first-line medical and disaster-response capabilities.

The United States has provided emergency medical and training equipment to the Bangladesh Coast Guard in Chattogram and Teknaf to strengthen its first-line medical response and disaster relief capabilities, the US Embassy in Dhaka said on Wednesday.

The deliveries were made on September 7 and 9 through the Overseas Humanitarian Assistance Shared Information System (OHASIS) project, embassy spokesperson Poornima Rai said. They comprise 120 fully stocked trauma response bags and 21 CPR training mannequins for Coast Guard personnel across the region.

The effort builds on longstanding US support for Bangladesh’s Coast Guard and humanitarian response capacity, advances mutual security cooperation and empowers capable partners in the Pacific, Rai said.
