Professor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, minister for Women and Children Affairs, said the government is highly vigilant and conscious to ensure that no one faces any discrimination.
He made the remarks at a discussion meeting held at the National Press Club on Tuesday.
The minister further said that if the satisfaction of those involved in the service sector can be ensured, the general public will receive the highest service quality. So he said the government is sincerely working to provide necessary support to the relevant stakeholders.
Emphasising the importance of enhancing professional skills and excellence, he said no profession can deliver the desired benefits without proper career planning. Everyone should adopt long-term plans to improve the standards of their organisations and professions.
AZM Zahid Hossain also called on the relevant authorities to ensure that pharmacists play a vigilant role in maintaining the quality of medicines in the healthcare sector and ensuring that patients receive the right medicines.
Among those present at the event, Atikur Rahman Rumon, additional press secretary to the prime minister, called on everyone to work with dedication and shoulder to shoulder to strengthen the prime minister’s efforts to build an inclusive and humane Bangladesh.
When diploma pharmacists raised a demand for implementing Grade 10 for their posts, the minister said the government would consider ensuring fair opportunities and benefits for pharmacists, as it does for other services and professions, and assured them of the necessary cooperation in this regard.
He also made a strong call for increasing women’s participation in the healthcare sector and all other sectors.
