Portfolios have been assigned to eight advisers appointed with the rank of minister and state minister in the new government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The responsibilities were allocated through a gazette notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Friday (February 20).
According to the notification, among advisers holding ministerial rank, Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Nazrul Islam Khan, and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed have been appointed as Political Advisers. In addition, Md Ismail Jabiullah has been given charge of the Ministry of Public Administration, while Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir has been assigned the Ministry of Finance.
Among advisers holding the rank of state minister, Brigadier General (Retd) Shamsul Islam has been entrusted with the Ministry of Defence. Mahdi Amin has been given responsibility for the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Meanwhile, Rehan Asif Asad has been assigned the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology as well as the Ministry of Science and Technology.
