The total cost will be BDT 13.2654 billion. This decision was made at the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchases meeting, chaired by the Adviser on Finance and Science and Technology, Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed. The meeting also approved several proposals for purchasing rice, lentils, oil, and fertilizers.
Following a proposal from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, approval was granted to import one cargo of LNG from Switzerland's Total Energies Gas and Power Limited via the spot market. The cost for this cargo will be BDT 6.7223 billion, with the price set at 14.25 dollars per MMBTU. Based on another proposal from the same company, approval was also granted to import a second cargo of LNG for BDT 6.543 billion. The price for this cargo is set at 13.87 dollars per MMBTU.
After the Ministry of Industry and Agriculture's suggestions, the government has sanctioned the import of 120,000 tons of urea and TSP (Triple Superphosphate) fertilizers. Of this total, 30,000 tons of bulk granular urea fertilizer will be brought in from Qatar Energy Marketing for BDT 1.2216 billion, priced at 339.33 dollars per ton. Moreover, permission has been given to import 30,000 tons of bagged granular urea fertilizer from Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company Limited (KAFCO) for BDT 1.2019 billion, with the cost per ton determined at 333.88 dollars. An additional 30,000 tons of bulk granular urea fertilizer will be sourced from SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company in Saudi Arabia for BDT 1.2215 billion, with the cost per ton established at 339.33 dollars. The government has also sanctioned the import of 30,000 tons of TSP fertilizer from Morocco's OCP Nutrient Corp for BDT 1.5246 billion, at 423.50 dollars per ton.
In reaction to a suggestion from the Ministry of Commerce, the government has opted to buy lentils and soybean oil for the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB). This entails acquiring 10,000 tons of lentils from Sheikh Agro Food Industries for BDT 954 million, with the price per kilogram established at BDT 95.40. Furthermore, 11 million liters of soybean oil will be acquired from City Edible Oil Limited for BDT 1.8947 billion, with the cost per liter established at BDT 172.25.
In the Procurement Committee meeting, a decision was made to purchase 50,000 tons of non-basmati boiled rice from India through an international open tender. The total cost for this purchase will be BDT 2.74 billion, with the price per ton set at BDT 456.67. Additionally, the meeting approved a proposal for the recruitment of consultants for the "Cox's Bazar Airport Development (Phase 2) Consultant Services (Design Phase)" project, with an estimated cost of BDT 488.142 million.
