President urges students to pursue science, innovation

President Mirza Fakhrul urges students to build their skills in science and technology and develop an interest in innovation during their first visit to Bangabhaban.

Students of Motijheel Ideal School and College on Monday met President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir when they visited Bangabhaban for the first time under the recently issued “Policy on Visits to Bangabhaban by Students of Educational Institutions-2026”.

Mirza Fakhrul urged the students to develop their skills in science and technology and pursue innovation.

A selected group of the institution’s outstanding students from classes VII to IX, led by principal Professor Lal Mohammad and accompanied by teachers, took part in the visit.

The students toured various facilities at Bangabhaban. Later, the president addressed them at the Durbar Hall and took part in a photo session with them.

Addressing the students, the president said, “The young generation and students of today will lead Bangladesh in the future, and we see a new Bangladesh and new dreams in you.”

He also stressed the importance of respecting elders and teachers and developing themselves into responsible individuals, while remembering the sacrifices parents make for their children.

“If students can develop themselves into well-educated individuals and good citizens, they will not only fulfil their parents’ dreams but also the expectations of the nation,” Mirza Fakhrul said.

The president noted that Bangabhaban was not merely a building but a symbol of the state and a witness to history. “This visit is intended to foster your interest in Bangabhaban, the state and future leadership. Students from different educational institutions will be brought to Bangabhaban in phases in the future,” he said.
