Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman paid a courtesy visit to Chief Adviser of the interim government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) disclosed this information in a press release on Sunday (March 30).
According to ISPR, the meeting took place at the state guesthouse Jamuna. During the discussion, the Army Chief briefed the Chief Adviser on the military’s measures to ensure nationwide security during the upcoming Eid. These include maintaining order at launch terminals, train stations, and bus terminals, ensuring smooth traffic flow on highways, and facilitating understanding between industrial owners and workers. He also provided updates on various ongoing army operations.
ISPR further stated that the Chief Adviser was informed about the army’s plans to organize Iftar and prayer gatherings at all cantonments in honor of those injured in the July uprising. Additionally, the Bangladesh Army will provide financial assistance to the families of wounded and martyred soldiers.
The meeting concluded with the Army Chief extending advance Eid greetings to the Chief Adviser. In response, the Chief Adviser praised the army’s role and professionalism, offering guidance for its future activities. He expressed confidence that the army would continue to uphold national security and sovereignty with dedication and professionalism.
