Sheikh Maroof resigns as Dhaka Bank’s MD

He submitted his resignation letter to the bank’s chairman, Abdul Hai Sarker, last Thursday.

Dhaka Bank’s Managing Director, Sheikh Mohammad Maroof, has resigned.

According to sources, he submitted his resignation letter to the bank’s chairman, Abdul Hai Sarker, last Thursday (August 14).

Maroof joined Dhaka Bank as the Managing Director in October 2024 for a three-year term. Previously, he served as Additional Managing Director of the City Bank.

When asked about the matter today (Sunday), Maroof told Bonik Barta, “I have resigned from the position of MD purely for personal reasons.” He declined to make further comments.
