Bangladesh Police’s 49 officials have been sent into retirement from government service. The decision has been taken in the “public interest,” according to a notification signed by Senior Secretary Manzur Morshed Chowdhury.

The home ministry’s Police-2 branch issued the notification Thursday, which was published on the ministry’s website today.

The notification stated that in accordance with the provisions of Section 45 of the Public Service Act, 2018, these officials have been retired as they have completed 25 years of service.

They will receive retirement benefits as per the rules. This order, issued in the public interest, will take effect immediately.
