Dhaka condemns Houthi attack on Riyadh airport that killed two Bangladeshis

The foreign ministry called the targeting of civilian infrastructure unacceptable and urged an end to hostilities in the interest of regional peace and stability.

Dhaka has condemned a Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that killed two Bangladeshi nationals and injured several others, some critically, and called for an immediate halt to hostilities, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

The ministry said its mission in Riyadh was in contact with Saudi authorities to establish the identities of the dead and injured, and to arrange assistance for those affected.

Dhaka extended its condolences to the victims’ families, including those of the Bangladeshi dead, and wished the injured a full recovery.

The ministry described attacks endangering civilian lives and targeting civilian infrastructure as unacceptable and said they must cease immediately. It reaffirmed Dhaka’s solidarity with the Saudi government and called for the protection of civilians, a peaceful resolution of the crisis through dialogue and diplomacy, and an end to hostilities in the interest of regional peace, security and stability.
