Four new ministers took their oaths at Bangabhaban on Friday evening, following the swearing-in ceremony of the president. President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir administered their oaths.
The four new members of the cabinet are BNP Standing Committee member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partho, Bandarban MP Sa Ching Prue Jerry and M Rashiduzzaman Millat.
Before the ceremony, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, accompanied by his wife Zubaida Rahman, former Chief Adviser of the interim government Dr Muhammad Yunus, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and Leader of the Opposition Dr Shafiqur Rahman, BNP Standing Committee member and Narsingdi-2 MP Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman and Bhola-1 MP Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partho, Bandarban District BNP Convener and local MP Sa Ching Prue Jerry and Gaibandha-4 MP Mohammad Shamim Kaiser Lincoln, among others, arrived at Bangabhaban to attend the ceremony.
According to officials from the Cabinet Division, more than 1,200 guests were invited to the ceremony.
