In total, 14 children with measles-like symptoms have been newly admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the past 24 hours. RMCH authorities confirmed no child has died from measles during this period.

Hospital’s spokesperson, Dr Shankar K Biswas, confirmed the information to the media this morning.

Providing the latest update, he said that no deaths from measles or its symptoms were reported in the last 24 hours. At the same time, the paediatric ward received 14 children with symptoms. Meanwhile, 24 children have recovered and returned home. 135 children are currently undergoing treatment as suspected measles cases.

He further added that the total number of admitted suspected measles cases at the hospital has reached 627 children so far. To date, a total of 51 children have died from suspected measles at RMCH.
