Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, speaker of the National Parliament, has sought Japan’s cooperation in exporting skilled manpower from Bangladesh. He made the request on Wednesday, when Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Saida Shinichi paid a courtesy call on him at his office in the National Parliament.
During the meeting, the speaker expressed gratitude to the Government of Japan for its unconditional investment in Bangladesh’s communication infrastructure and economic development.
The Japanese ambassador said that the strong relationship between Bangladesh and Japan is founded on the bonds of sincerity and mutual goodwill between the peoples of the two countries.
The Government of Japan places the highest importance on the Bangladesh-Japan strategic partnership, economic cooperation, increased investment, expanded trade, and Bangladesh’s infrastructure development, he further noted.
The ambassador also informed the speaker that the pace of Japan’s ongoing development activities in Bangladesh has accelerated following the restoration of stability and democratic governance in the country after the February 12 election.
