Disaster Management and Relief Adviser Faruk E Azam, Bir Protik, today received a cheque of BDT 2.4 million from HDFC, Sinpower Ltd, on behalf of the Chief Adviser to assist people affected by recent floods.

The donation was handed over at the adviser’s office at the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, the ministry said in a press release signed by Md Enayet Hossain, Information and Public Relations Officer.

The adviser expressed gratitude to the organisation for extending support to flood-hit families.

Disaster Management and Relief Secretary Md Mostafizur Rahman, Sinpower Ltd Managing Director Su Zhen, and Head of Finance Liu Yize were present at the handover ceremony.

The Disaster Management and Relief Adviser has so far received 243 cheques, pay-orders, and bank drafts amounting to BDT 1,014,072,303 for the Chief Adviser’s Relief and Welfare Fund.
