Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman was sworn in on Tuesday as president of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, a position he will hold for one year at the UN’s main global forum.
The formal swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected president took place at UN headquarters in New York at about 9:30 pm Bangladesh time.
Rahman is due to preside over the 81st session’s first plenary meeting at 1 am.
