Tarique Rahman to visit Khulna on Monday

With the 13th national parliamentary election approaching, Tarique Rahman will introduce BNP candidates for 14 parliamentary constituencies across Khulna, Bagerhat, and Satkhira districts from the rally.

After nearly two decades, BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman is set to visit the Khulna division tomorrow, Monday (February 2). He will address a public rally as the chief guest at 10:00 am at the Provati School ground in Khalishpur, organised by the Khulna metropolitan and district units of the BNP.

With the 13th national parliamentary election approaching, Tarique Rahman will introduce BNP candidates for 14 parliamentary constituencies across Khulna, Bagerhat, and Satkhira districts from the rally. He is also expected to outline the challenges facing the southern region, present development visions, and provide electoral guidance.

Meanwhile, the BNP’s metropolitan and district units, along with its affiliated and associate organisations, have rolled out a series of programmes to mark the arrival of the party’s top leader. Processions, slogans, and campaign activities have filled the city with political fervour.

Khulna city BNP General Secretary Shafiqul Islam Tuhin said a major election rally would be held on Monday under the banner of the metropolitan and district BNP, with Tarique Rahman addressing the gathering as the chief guest.

Central BNP Student Affairs Secretary Rakibul Islam Bakul said the goal was to turn the rally into the largest election gathering in the southern region, with massive participation from party leaders and activists from Khulna city, district, and several neighbouring districts.

Metropolitan BNP President Advocate Shafikul Alam Mona said Khulna has historically been a stronghold of the BNP, and the chairperson’s visit on the eve of the election would play a crucial role in demonstrating organisational strength and restoring voters’ confidence.

Nazrul Islam Manju, the BNP candidate for Khulna-2 constituency, said Tarique Rahman would provide clear guidance at the rally on meeting the long-neglected aspirations of people in the southern region.

Meanwhile, sources said the administration is also taking necessary measures to maintain law and order in connection with the public gathering.
