None will be spared to control situation before election

The Deputy Press Secretary said, “Following the mass uprising, the government is trying to quickly normalize the situation under the new reality.”

The government is making every effort to restore law and order before the election and will not spare anyone in this process, said Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser.

He made the remarks on Saturday morning (July 12) during a view exchange meeting held at the Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner’s office.

He said, “Following the mass uprising, the government is trying to quickly normalize the situation under the new reality. Immediate action is being taken against incidents occurring in various parts of the country. The situation will be controlled at any cost before the election.”

Commenting on the recent murder in Dhaka, the Deputy Press Secretary said, “Police took action immediately after the incident. Four people have been arrested so far, and investigations into the cause are ongoing.”

He also mentioned a recent meeting between home ministry officials and the Chief Adviser, where instructions were given that no one would be spared from now on.

He said police have been given necessary directions, and the situation will gradually improve. Addressing journalists’ concerns, he assured that the government is aware of their working environment and said, “Journalists will no longer face harassment like before. Necessary support will be provided during election coverage.”

Regarding the Digital Security Act, he said cases filed under the law have been withdrawn, and except for hacking, all sections of the Cyber Security Act are now bailable.

The meeting was attended by senior Assistant Press Secretary Foyez Ahammad, Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Afia Akhtar, various government officials, civil society representatives, and journalists.
