Four more children died with measles-like symptoms across Bangladesh over the past 24 hours. But no child died from laboratory-confirmed measles during the same period. While 941 children developed measles-like symptoms nationwide, 116 children were confirmed to have contracted measles.
Two of the deaths occurred in Dhaka, one in Sylhet, and one in Mymensingh, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) measles-related report released on Sunday. Since March 15, 93 children have died from confirmed measles, while 619 children have died with measles-like symptoms. In total, 712 children have died from confirmed measles or measles-like symptoms during the period.
Since March 15, 99,207 children have developed measles-like symptoms, while 11,710 children have been diagnosed with confirmed measles. At the same time, 82,844 children were admitted to hospitals with measles-like symptoms, and 79,152 children were discharged after recovery.
Over the past 24 hours, 889 children were admitted to hospitals after contracting measles, while 865 children recovered and returned home.
