India’s high commissioner to Bangladesh, Dinesh Trivedi, paid a courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir on Tuesday, congratulating him on his appointment and discussing bilateral, regional and international issues, the foreign ministry said.

The two met at the foreign ministry in Dhaka and discussed the recently concluded 81st UN General Assembly in New York, among other matters.

Kobir underscored Bangladesh’s commitment to work with India in a forward-looking and mutually respectful way on issues of mutual interest and benefit of the peoples, the ministry said.
