Tarique Rahman, the newly appointed prime minister of Bangladesh, is scheduled to lead a series of official engagements today, including paying tribute at the National Memorial and chairing a cabinet meeting.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Rahman will depart his Gulshan residence for Savar at 10:00 am local time. He is due to lay a wreath at the National Memorial at 10:55 am.

Following the visit, he will travel to the graves of his parents, the late president Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia, where he will offer wreaths and prayers shortly after 12:00 pm.

The prime minister is then scheduled to arrive at the Secretariat in Dhaka at 1:00 pm for lunch and prayers before presiding over a cabinet meeting at 3:00 pm. Later in the afternoon, at 4:00 pm, he is expected to attend an exchange-of-views meeting with secretaries.

The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that relevant departments have been instructed to complete all necessary preparations for the day’s programme.
