Bangladesh’s army, navy and air force chiefs paid a courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at Bangabhaban on Tuesday.
Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Admiral Khondkar Misbah-ul-Azim and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan congratulated the president on assuming office and briefed him on the activities of their respective forces. They sought his direction and cooperation as supreme commander of the armed forces.
President Fakhrul expressed satisfaction with the armed forces’ activities and said the current government was working to build the military into a modern four-dimensional force.
The president assured the three chiefs that maximum cooperation would continue during his tenure to improve the professional skills of service members and support the armed forces’ overall development.
