General Waker-Uz-Zaman, the chief of the Bangladesh Army, left Dhaka on Sunday for a five-day official visit to the Czech Republic and Slovakia, aiming to strengthen defence cooperation with both central European nations.

The army chief is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with senior defence officials in both countries, with a focus on reinforcing bilateral defence relations and collaboration, according to an official statement.
