Eid journey stress-free this year, says Home Affairs Adviser

He explained that due to various people-friendly initiatives and efficient management by the government, the public is traveling comfortably for Eid this year.

Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said today (March 29) that the public is able to travel for Eid in peace and without any hassle this time.

He explained that due to various people-friendly initiatives and efficient management by the government, the public is traveling comfortably for Eid this year. “We are doing everything possible on behalf of the government to ensure that people can travel smoothly and return safely to Dhaka after the Eid holidays,” he said.

The Adviser made these remarks while briefing the media after inspecting the Gabtoli bus terminal in Dhaka earlier this morning.

Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury also emphasized that the Ministry of Home Affairs has taken all necessary steps to ensure tight security in the capital. “While everyone is enjoying their holidays, police, the armed forces, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Ansar, the Coast Guard, and the Fire Service members are still on duty,” he said.

“They are working to maintain law and order in the capital, and they deserve our thanks for that.” He also mentioned that steps have been taken to prevent crimes such as theft, robbery, and snatching in the capital.

When asked by reporters whether there were any threats of conspiracies in the capital, the Adviser replied, “By the grace of Allah, there is no such threat.” He added, “If there were any threats, we, along with the people, would face them together. No one can carry out any conspiracy if the people are united.”

During the inspection, the Home Affairs Adviser also gave necessary instructions to the traffic department to ensure there are no traffic jams at the bus terminals and key entry and exit points. Additionally, he directed law enforcement agencies to take immediate action if there are any complaints about overcharging passengers beyond the fixed fare.
