Professor Md Faridul Islam of the Marketing Department has been appointed the new vice-chancellor of University of Rajshahi.

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon made the announcement on Monday during a briefing at the Ministry of Education.

Professor Faridul Islam is currently serving as the general secretary of the Zia Parishad at the university.

Speaking to Bonik Barta regarding his appointment, he said he had learned about the decision and was mentally prepared to take on the responsibility. However, he added that he has not yet received the official notification.
