The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) conducted a drive in Brahmanbaria to stabilize egg prices. Acting under the Ministry of Commerce’s directives, the operation was carried out in Faruki Bazar of Sadar upazila with overall supervision from the district administration.
On Sunday (August 17) at 1 pm, the operation was led by Iftakharul Alam Rejvi, Assistant Director of the Consumer Rights Protection in Brahmanbaria.
He said, “During the operation, egg traders in Faruki Bazar were not displaying price lists for sales. They were also not keeping purchase and sales vouchers properly. As a result, a total fine of BDT 9,500 was collected from four egg traders as a warning.”
He added that traders were instructed to follow government laws and maintain hygienic practices in business operations.
Representatives from the Department of Agricultural Marketing (DAM) in Brahmanbaria and members of the 15 Ansar Battalion assisted in the raid. The Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection in Brahmanbaria said these drives will continue in the public interest.
